The “Salam Bar Moharram” (Greetings to Moharram) ceremony will be held in the Abasabad Cultural and Tourism Area of Tehran (ACTAT), attended by lovers and devotees of the Ahl al-Bayt.

According to the public relations department of ACTAT, the “Salam Bar Moharram” ceremony serves as a symbol of solidarity for the Tehran’s largest Hosseini mourning campaign. Held in conjunction with the hoisting of the country’s largest Hosseini mourning flag, the event will take place on Monday, June 15, 2026, with citizens, religious groups, and devotees of Imam Hussein.

The ceremony will feature programs dedicated to the beginning of the month of Moharram, including eulogies by the prominent Bahraini eulogist, Mohammad Gholoum, showcasing the devotion and love of the Ahl al-Bayt’s followers for the Master of Martyrs.

The “Salam Bar Moharram” ceremony will begin at 16:30 near the Argentine Square, Nelson Mandela Boulevard, at the entrance to the Square of Celebrities (Meydan-e Mashahir). By participating in this gathering, attendees will express their devotion to Imam Hussein and prepare to welcome the month of Moharram and the days of mourning for the Master of Martyrs.

The “Salam Bar Moharram” ceremony is held annually with the aim of promoting Ashura culture, strengthening social solidarity, and honoring Hosseini rituals.

On this day, the country’s largest Hosseini mourning flag will also be raised atop the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Flag Tower, symbolizing Tehran being mournful for Imam Hussein.
