According to the Public Relations Office of the Abasabad Cultural and Tourism Area of Tehran (ACTAT), the cultural–sports event began at 5 PM with the participation of families, children, and teenagers from across Tehran.

The festival was organized in cooperation with the Public Sports Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Sports and Youth Administration Office of Tehran Province, the MS Society of Iran, and ACTAT.

The event was attended by several officials and sports managers, including Ali Khalili, President of the Public Sports Federation; Alireza Mahdavi, Secretary General of the Federation; Mehdi Ashrafzadeh, Acting Head of Tehran Province’s Public Sports Organization; Ghahremani, Head of the National Kite Association; and Hosseini, a veteran kite competition judge, along with other sports officials.

Abdolhossein Hooshmand, CEO of the MS Society of Iran, expressed his appreciation to the organizers and highlighted the importance of supporting people living with MS. He stated:

“MS is one of the diseases that particularly affects young people, and statistics indicate that its prevalence has increased in recent years.”

Referring to the impact of social and economic conditions on patients, he added:

“Experiences from recent years have shown that crises and social unrest can affect the progression of the disease and create additional challenges for patients and their families.”

Hooshmand also called for improved insurance coverage for MS patients, noting:

“Restrictions on coverage for certain medical services and the high cost of treatment have placed a significant financial burden on families.”

Another highlight of the event was a symbolic bicycle ride from Ab-o-Atash Park to the Nature Bridge, organized in support of MS patients and to raise public awareness about the disease.

Mehdi Hab-Darvish, football freestyle player and Guinness World Record holder in keepie-uppies, also attended the festival and received a warm welcome from participants.

A stand-up comedy performance by Ali Zargari, various competitions, family entertainment programs, and a concert by Zanko were among the other activities that attracted enthusiastic public participation.

Held on the eve of World MS Day, the festival created a joyful and engaging atmosphere for families while also providing an opportunity to increase public awareness about MS and show support for those affected by the disease.

Through its continued commitment to social responsibility, ACTAT has sought to contribute to improving citizens’ quality of life and promoting a culture of empathy and awareness by hosting and supporting cultural, sports, and social initiatives.
