Community-based tourism has become an important approach to sustainable and inclusive development in Indonesia. This webinar highlights the roles and contributions of Muslim women academics in initiating, supporting, and leading community-based tourism development programmes across various tourism destinations in Indonesia. Drawing on their experiences in collaborating with local communities, tourism villages, and stakeholders, the panellists will share insights into how higher education institutions can play an active role in strengthening community capacity, developing local potential, preserving cultural heritage, and creating sustainable livelihood.
