The ceremony “Salam Bar Moharram” was held at the Iran Hussainiyah at the start of Muharram. With the sound of sanj (cymbals) and damam (drums), the largest mourning banner of Imam Husayn was raised and flown atop the tallest flagpole tower in Iran.
