Celebrities Square (Meidan-e-Mashahir)

Celebrities Square (Meidan-e-Mashahir)

Located at the western entrance of the Abasabad area, in Mashahir Square, statues of prominent Iranian figures as well as notable personalities from other countries have been installed. The gate of Mashahir Square, inspired by traditional Iranian architecture, serves as a grand and welcoming entrance for visitors during spring and Nowruz.

At the far end of the square, an engraved stone inscription features a narrative from Imam Sadeq (PBUH), the Sixth Imam of Shia Islam, with a red stone carpet adorned with Islamic arabesque patterns laid beneath it. The designs carved on the stone draw from the rich heritage of Islamic Iranian architecture, ranging from the carvings of Tagh-e Bostan to Abbasid-era motifs, as well as floral and bird (Gol-o-Morq) patterns from the past century, all intricately carved on white Herat stone.
